Having the best digital camera doesn't guarantee you'll get the best shots. Fortunately there are software apps that can help us fix those little flaws.
One of them is ColorCastFX, a very basic optimization tool that has been specifically created to solve some apparently common color issues in certain camera brands. In fact, the program includes a few optimization presets for some Canon, Nikon, Olympus and Fuji models. If your camera is not among them, you can customize the optimization tool with two simple sliders, one for fixing color and the other one for correcting gamma. Any preset you create can be saved for later use.
The program works in a very easy way: load the image and move the sliders until you obtain a satisfying result, which is when you'll be able to save the image. It's great for a quick retouch, but power users will definitely miss having some more advanced options. Plus, the program window can't be maximize so you must see photos either in a too small size to make them fit the interface or a 1:1 zoom that is really uncomfortable to use.
ColorCastFX is a rather simple tool that allows you to fix color and exposure values in your pictures.
